Job description
The steel worker will raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks. The steel worker may erect metal storage tanks and assemble prefabricated metal buildings, and inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. The steel worker will be performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Special Requirements
Six (6) months of power tool and equipment, steel working, or related experience is required. Must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) lbs. frequently throughout the workday.
