Job description
The worker will assist to set up forms for concrete and check forms that hold concrete to ensure they are properly constructed and use measuring devices to verify levelness. The worker will assist with the concrete line pump and then spread, level, and smooth concrete, using a rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float. The worker will also assist in the pouring of concrete for insulated concrete forms and retaining walls. Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry, using tools such as a hoe, trowel, tamper, scraper, or concrete-mixing machine. Operate power construction equipment and use measuring devices to verify levelness. Apply adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings. Monitor how natural elements (i.e. wind, heat, cold) affect the curing of the concrete throughout the process. The workers will help carry tools and materials and clean-up work sites as needed. The worker will receive two weeks of training.
Special Requirements
The worker must have at least three (3) months of concrete or related experience, including setting concrete forms and concrete finishing. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. for 75 yards.
