Job description
Workers will be required to hand plant sugarcane by pulling 3-4 stalks of cane from the back of a cane wagon being pulled by a tractor and placing into rows overlapping so that there are no skipped areas, or walking behind an automatic planter and straightening the cane in rows and on the ends of the rows and making sure 3-4 stalks are planted throughout the row. Some tractor driving may be required. General farm labor duties such as, but not limited to: drainage/shovel work, minor repair and maintenance to farm equipment and vehicles, keeping the fields, shop area, and house year free of debris, field sanitation duties, general shop work, etc. Workers have to be physically able to perform all duties described. Workers may be drug tested post-hire to ensure worker safety and to keep in compliance with workers compensation guidelines. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. All work and safety rules must be followed at all times.
