Job description
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2041 Graders and Sorters, Agricultural Products and SOC Code 53-7064 Packers and Packagers, Hand and related to the production of potatoes. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to potato warehouse operation.
General warehouse duties will include the following responsibilities: remove boxes and/or bags from conveyor belt and place on pallets; stack boxes and/or bags in patterns; wrap pallets and move to staging area for shipping or loading onto trailers; lift, move, and carry boxed potatoes; weigh products or estimate their weight visually or by feel; manually lift, package, tape, and label using hands; communicate with supervisors, leaders, inspectors, maintenance workers, co-workers, etc.; understand/follow basic verbal/written instruction; attend educational workshops and training such as worker protection and basic sanitation principles; report malfunctions; sweep/shovel/discard debris; clean up around conveyors and worksite; maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed food safety regulations.
