Job description

Operate a Module truck (Class B CDL) or road tractor with trailer (Class A CDL) to transport seed cotton from the farm to the gin, or between gins. Operate a Class A/B tuck to transport by-products away from the plant to customers as needed. Operate a Class A truck to transport lint bales to outside warehouses as necessary. Drive a Class A truck and trailer to transport equipment between plants, to farmers, and to and from rental houses as necessary. Tasks/responsibilities include but not limited to daily pre-trip inspections, topping off fluids and airing tires, completing documentation as laid out by the company, following all applicable laws and driving in a manner that prioritizes the safe operation of said vehicle, monitor loading/unloading trailer as necessary, communicating with personnel at loading/unloading locations in accordance with standards laid out by management, securing loads as necessary, coupling and uncoupling trailers, competent in reading maps/GPS to ensure timely arrival of loads, communicate all needs/damages to maintenance crew, inspect cargo for condition/damage and report info to appropriate personnel. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job order, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Job involves stooping, lifting and working in inclement weather as well as indoor & outdoor extreme temps. Must have legal authority to work in the US. Must be able to lift & carry up to 50lbs. to shoulder height repetitively through the workday. Workers may be required to take random, post-accident, and/or upon suspicion drug test at no cost to worker, post hire. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must have twelve months positive verifiable prior experience in job offered. No smoking or tobacco use of any kind will be permitted in the gin or warehouse. Employer reserves the right to discharge any employee found smoking or in possession of smoking materials including cigarettes, cigars, snuff, chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco, electronic cigarettes or any other smoking paraphernalia. The employer will designate time for lunch and breaks. Worker may be requested to work Sunday during peak times and special needs but not required. These requirements pertain to both H-2A & US workers.
