Job description

General labor for cleaning and storing peanuts. Sanitation for post-harvest. General labor for treating peanut seed. Shovel peanuts. Sweep up spilled peanuts. Dump peanuts out of trailers. Monitor flow of peanuts down thru pit up to elevator, thru all of cleaning system. Load clean peanuts back into trailers. Pull samples. Clean pits. Change tires on trailers and wagons. Wash wagons/trailers. Load warehouses and dump wagons thru pits, monitor and position conveyor belts to load warehouse properly. Top off warehouse (clean peanuts off catwalks, clean out wells – general sanitation). Clean up peanut spillage and any other post-harvest sanitation needed. Bag peanuts. Stack peanuts (50 lb. bags) on pallets. Sanitation (clean up spillage, sweep, general cleaning). Position pallets. Place slip sheet on top of pallet. General labor for cleaning and storing peanuts. The Shelling Operator is responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment for proper product flow to include adjusting gate levers, airflow, and eccentric speeds throughout the peanut shelling conveyors. This individual is also responsible for monitoring a control panel that controls the flow of peanuts throughout the system. The Shelling Operator is responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment for proper product flow, improper build-up of foreign material (sticks, rocks, etc.) and for mechanical issues. The utmost attention must be given to safety, product quality, on-time delivery and compliance with all safety, quality and overall company policies and procedures. Make necessary adjustments, to equipment controls, to acquire proper flow of both product and foreign material. Adjust gate levers. Make adjustments to airflow and eccentric speeds through HMI control panel. Inspect separating equipment for proper product flow and mechanical issues. Inspect sorting equipment for proper product flow and mechanical issues. Inspect sizing equipment for proper product flow and mechanical issues. Perform sanitation in work area. Other duties, as assigned.

Special Requirements

Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers.Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment. Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift. Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift. Much be able to crouch, kneel and stoop for 4+ hours per shift. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
