Job description
Workers will care for cattle, including feeding hay and grain. Workers will round up livestock to work calves, tend to injured or hurt animals including pulling calves on heifers needing help calving. Workers will drive tractor to feed round bales of hay, cut and bale hay, and shred pastures to control brush. Workers will assist with fence repairs needed throughout their time of labor. Workers will drive cattle trailers to auction barn and feed truck to check on and feed cattle. Workers will be expected to work every other weekend on a rotating basis. Additionally, workers should be prepared to be on call, even at night, to assist an animal in need. 3 months experience working with cattle is preferred.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.
