Job description

Wean yearling calves, ensure constant separate between mothers and yearlings; daily feed and water cows and heifers in preparation for calving, break ice in water troughs; calve cows and heifers, warm calves if too cold; check newborn calves and mothers multiple times daily, record birth weights, tag calves; administer medicine and vaccinations to mothers and calves as necessary; sell yearlings; moving cattle between pens with pickup and stock trailer or atv for rotational grazing; move cows and newborn calves to growing grass at end of season; inspect, maintain, prepare, repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, fences, barns, lean tos, fences, corrals as necessary to contain and handle cattle.
