Job description
Job duties include feeding cattle in feedlot; feeding cattle and calves in pasture; monitoring water, hauling water, and watering cattle daily; working on trucks; transporting cattle; moving cattle; moving panels; grinding hay; grinding grain; moving grain; haying; and harvesting B&B Wiese, Inc.'s grain for feeding cattle. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to swather; baler; feed truck; tractor and hay grinder; grain cart; and loader. Duties also include manual labor such as lifting cattle panels; scooping bunks; pushing calves to the chute; loading and unloading cattle; branding or tagging calves; picking up electric fence for cattle; scooping grain bins; sweeping shop; changing oil; and performing maintenance on trucks and tractors. Employees must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading, and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Duties are on an active farm and ranch so employees must be able to lift panel and calves, push 200 pounds cows, bend over, scoop, clean bunk line, and roll or lift semi tires. Employees must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading, and math skills.
