Job description
Job Duties • Moving cattle home from milo stalks beginning in December to calving pasture• Administer medications/vaccinations• Maintain cattle feed and water equipment• Feeding /watering cattle• Inspect cattle for illness/injuries• Maintain winter grazing fences• Prepping ranch barn and grounds for freeze• Opening frozen water tanks• Snow removal• Calving begins late January through March• Bringing newborn calves into sheds to avoid freezing• Pregnancy checking• Cleaning barns• Branding cattle• Mixing feed and supplements• Hauling hay for feed• Moving cattle to summer pastures late March
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
