Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Fall cattle work/pregnancy checking. Moving cattle to ranch from summer pastures. Weaning calves. Monitoring their health daily. Feeding twice a day. Vaccinating. Cleaning and bedding pens. Checking waters daily. Feeding the cattle. Grinding hay and alfalfa. Working and vaccinating the cows/bulls. Maintaining fences and feed equipment. Cleaning and bedding cattle pens. Snow removal. Prepping calving barn. Calving begins end of February. Cleaning calving pens daily. Bedding calving barns daily. Monitoring cows every 3 hours during calving. Checking frozen waterers. Tag, weigh, and give medication to new born calf within hours of birth. Monitoring calves for sickness 3 X a day. Treat sick calves. Prepping bulls for sale. Clipping and picturing sale animals. Semen testing and working bulls. Feeding bulls daily. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
