Job description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Moving cattle from summer pastures. Fall Cattle working/Preg checking. Weaning. Feeding cattle. Working and vaccinating cattle.Maintaining feed equipment. Welding maintenance. Inspect livestock for illness/injuries. Maintaining winter grazing fences. Keeping water available. Prepping corrals and barn for winter weather. Breaking ice on water tanks and ponds. Shipping calves to market. Moving cattle to calving pastures mid-winter. Calving begins end of February through April. Prepping hay equipment. Fencing summer pastures. Branding cattle. Moving cattle to summer pastures end of May. Drive to town to pickup cattle supplies.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
