Job description

Need four full time, temporary seasonal workers for seasonal assistance during the very labor-intensive calving season. Job duties include: Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain, feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies, herd livestock to pastures in Spring for grazing or to scales, pickup trucks, or other enclosures, perform duties related to livestock reproduction, such as breeding animals within appropriate time frames, performing artificial inseminations, and helping with animal births, provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment, shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food, transport animals, crops, or equipment. Clean corals, and provide clean hay to livestock. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion., Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion. Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath.
*** For 2024 and all future applications the starting date will be 12/01 to cover the entire cattle season.

Special Requirements

Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Require 1 month farm experience.
