Job description

We will need help caring for our cattle during the winter months. Our yearling cattle will need to be fed daily along with monitoring water, health and body condition. They will be vaccinated around 1 year of age. Then we will sort some off to sell and feed to finish the rest in our facilities. Employees must handle livestock in a safe and calm manor. Our momma cows will be moved to winter pastures and will need hay fed and water checked daily also. In Janurary they will be moved to the calving pastures where they will need checked 4 times per day. Employees duties will include handling cattle in a safe and calm manor, operating, maintaining and monitoring feeding equipment and facilities, assisting with birthing a calf, tagging, banding, doctoring calves and general farm duties as assigned. The cattle will be given vaccinations the end of March before being sent to summer pasture. Employer may provide pay increases for performance and experience at the employer's discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion.

Special Requirements

Job requires extensive walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Employer may conduct a post hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free work environment. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer may conduct post hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular driver's license within 30 days of hire. Require 3 months experience.
