Precision Land Forming Worker
Employer
21 Sunrise Dr.
Boyle, MS 38730
United States
Job description
Job requires the operation of various farm equipment to manipulate farmland during the crop’s offseason to make it level, flat, or uniform in terms of slope and elevation after the crops are out of the fields to avoid waterlogging, drought, and soil erosion. Uneven terrain can make it difficult to plant and harvest crops, increasing the risk of damage to machinery and the crops themselves during the growing and harvesting season of the crops. With land leveling, the farm can ensure that their crops have access to adequate water and nutrients, leading to higher yields, healthier plants, and an easier planting and harvesting season. After the crops have come out of the fields the employees will break the field into a fine dust then transfer soil to make the land level on the specified fields. The land is level once low places for water to sit and high places that water runs off are eliminated. Employees also use equipment to fill in erosions caused by years of running water across the field. Manual duties include but are not limited to maintenance and upkeep of land leveling equipment used daily to be able to accomplish these duties. Daily hours and duties may vary depending on weather and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers’ pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
