Job description

The Livestock production worker position will be required to perform any combination of the following tasks to attend to livestock :monitor, care for and move livestock using 4-wheelers to and from pastures during the winter months until they can be turned out to pasture for grazing and no longer need daily care. This happens when the grass grows in the late spring. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; place mineral blocks; vaccinate livestock, herd into corral and/or stall and manually restraining animals; apply medications to cuts and bruises ; manually clean stalls/corrals. Snow removal and equipment maintenance will be required also. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmental conditions. Worker must be able to crouch, bend, lift and carry up to 100 pounds. Worker is required to have a current driver’s license. Increased wages and or bonus may be possible depending on experience.

Special Requirements

Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges).
The expected work schedule may be required in a split shift due to the nature of the job duties. Hours may vary due to weather, time of year and the requirements of the job. Work may be offered more than the specified hours per day, but only required to work the hours specified. Work may be offered 7 days a week but only required 6 days a week.
