Job description

Crops: Broccoli, Cauliflower.

Duties may include: Harvesting for cauliflower and broccoli: Workers walk behind field pack machine, bend to near ground level and cut broccoli/cauliflower with knife after determining the quality is acceptable. Broccoli/cauliflower pitched into conveyor machine. Packing for broccoli/cauliflower: Workers select heads, check quality and put into boxes. Worker will use plastic bags to pack cauliflower heads and seal with tape. Workers will stack boxes onto pallets. All work is performed in the field and on a farm. Field work: Workers will be planting, cultivating, pulling or hoeing weeds in vegetable fields, carry and connect irrigation pipe, tilling soil, thinning, counting and checking crops. perform any other duties associated with field work and vegetable production & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). All weeding/thinning work will be performed in compliance with 8 Cal. Code Regulations Section 3437, 3456(b-c) - any hand-held tool used for this work will have a handle of four (4) feet or more in length.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years of age. Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 40lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
