Job description
Provide daily care for preschool aged children in an early childhood development program. Speak and read to children. Monitor children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and report concerns to management. Communicate with children's parents or guardians' information on how the child's day went, including daily activities, behaviors, and related issues. Prepare and serve school provided breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Develop a cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all areas sanitary and safe. Maintain a clean and safe environment for children by following a regular sanitation routine throughout the day, including disinfecting toys, play areas, and eating surfaces. Support classroom hygiene by assisting with light cleaning tasks directly related to the children’s care. Responsibilities may include washing children’s dishes, laundering linens used during naptime, and changing soiled clothing or bedding as needed. These tasks are performed in support of child health and safety and are secondary to direct childcare duties. Assist teachers in facilitating classroom activities and assignments. Workers will be required to change diapers and/or children’s clothing should the need arise.
Special Requirements
Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Must be able to stand for to extended periods of time throughout the day, be able to reach 20-30 feet away within 15 seconds in case of emergency, able to crouch to childs eye level, sit on the floor, able to observe, see, hear, and respond to childs needs, and to communicate. Post-hire drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers upon suspicion of use. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Ability to speak basic English preferred. Must be able to provide transcripts translated into English language from highest level of education completed, high school diploma or equivalent required. Complete health assessment required. Once in the US, the applicant must register with our local workforce agency to participate in our On-JobTraining program. This program provides consistent support from a mentor.
