Job description
We run a cattle ranch that combines a cow/calf operation as well as backgrounding and running winter stockers on wheat and grass pastures. Attend to live farm, ranch animals that include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Mix, grind, deliver, move feed/feedstuffs to cattle to supplement diet; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Administer medications, vaccinations, shots, oral wormers, pour on wormers, etc. as appropriate; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals and to move livestock from one location to another; Inspect, maintain, prepare, and repair livestock facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean water tanks, pens. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: clean work areas, tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
