Farmworker

Job description

Attend to live farm animals including cattle. Duties may include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, milking, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals. May maintain records on animals; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; assist in birth deliveries; and administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate. May clean and maintain animal housing areas. May drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to collect feed from storage and distribute to cattle, move cattle among fields, and transport cattle to processing plants.

The work day may begin / end earlier or later on any given day and evening. Typical workweek is Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. and every other Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Potential nights and weekends required depending on the animals and weather.
