Job description
The employer is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to assist with the season. Nursery workers will plant, cultivate and harvest bare root, ball-and-burlap, and containerized trees and shrubs. They will also perform other duties related to nursery production and may repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Workers must possess ability to understand verbal and/or written work instructions and must be able to understand and identify plants by botanical name and apply proper identification tag. Workers should follow safety and farm instructions. This job will be done under varying extreme outdoor weather conditions such as heat, high humidity, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind, and exposure to pollen, soil, mud, dust and other natural elements. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis. Specific duties and skills required are included in Addendum C.
Special Requirements
The job requires a minimum of two months verifiable prior experience working in a nursery handling both manual and machine tasks associated with nursery production and harvest activities. Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency.
