Job description
I operate a seasonal stocker cattle operation that begins planting winter cereal crops in October and has stocker cattle arrive in November. I will have these stocker cattle until early summer. I need help to get winter pasture planted and tend to the cattle while I have them. After the cattle are shipped, help is no longer needed with cattle. I need help to clean up the fields and prepare for the next season. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, seed drills, irrigation equipment, operate other farm equipment, install, maintain, and repair pivot irrigation systems, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. The employee will need to keep nutrition and minerals out for the cattle and maintain and repair temporary fences with the cattle. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at the previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
Special Requirements
Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Job requires a regular driver's license.
