Job description

Workers will operate agricultural equipment used in seasonal grain production, including tractors, combines, grain carts, and other farm equipment used during corn and soybean harvest. Duties include harvesting crops, transporting harvested grain within the farm and to local grain elevators, operating grain handling equipment, and assisting with grain handling and storage. Workers will perform routine equipment maintenance, inspect equipment before and after use, clean machinery, and report mechanical issues to help ensure safe and efficient operation. Additional duties include general agricultural labor directly related to seasonal harvest operations, assisting with field activities necessary to complete the annual corn and soybean harvest, and maintaining an orderly and safe work area. Work is performed outdoors under varying weather conditions, with work schedules dependent on crop maturity, weather, and operational demands. Workers are expected to operate equipment safely, follow established farm procedures, and perform assigned tasks efficiently. The position is temporary and seasonal, with duties limited to the fall harvest period and associated seasonal field operations necessary to complete the annual grain harvest. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
