Job description

Perform a variety of physical labor tasks at construction sites. Operate hand and power tools of all types, including air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, and measuring or surveying equipment including laser levels, measuring devices such as grade sticks, level rods and tape measures. Load, unload, and move construction materials such as lumber, steel panels, tin sheets, siding, trusses, and other components to designated areas. Assist in positioning and securing structural components under the direction of skilled craft workers. Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, digging trenches, setting braces to support excavations, and erecting scaffolding. The trenches are typically 6 inches deep, 8 inches wide typically. Shovels and a machine with operator are used to quicken the process. Tend to pumps, compressors, or generators to supply power for tools or equipment, and assist in heating or moving materials such as asphalt or concrete. Perform routine maintenance by lubricating, cleaning, and repairing tools and equipment as needed. Assist skilled trades personnel—such as carpenters, concrete finishers, or equipment operators—by providing necessary materials and tools. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery and materials. Measure and mark construction layouts as directed. Support building weatherization and site preparation tasks, including installing temporary insulation, applying weatherproofing materials, or erecting enclosures. Participate in cold-weather concrete pouring by preparing the area, confirming equipment readiness, and ensuring site conditions are suitable for curing. Remove worn or damaged materials, clean work areas, and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

Special Requirements

Three months of construction experience required. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs for 75 yards. May occasionally work on Saturdays. The Employer will provide on-the-job training to perform the duties assigned. Each applicant (U.S. and H-2B workers alike) must complete the Employers standard online employment application as part of the hiring process. The workers may be subject to post-employment drug testing upon reasonable suspicion, paid by the employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B. The workers are subject to post-employment criminal background checks, paid by the employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.
