Job description

Job Duties- Drivers will operate vehicles safely, and keep organized and accurate records,. Inform Transportation Supervisor/Dispatcher and/or appropriate staff when problems arise: Preparation and loading vehicles before runs when necessary
* Transport and deliver farm grown product in accordance to load parameters
* Track product and carts delivered to customers
* Unload trucks when returning from runs
* Transport passengers on a scheduled basis
* Map out and organize daily delivery routes and follow delivery schedules
* Safely operate the equipment necessary (cages, load bars, straps, pallet jacks, maps and GPS Units)
* Complete and keep DOT Logs, records and run sheets up to date
* Document shortages and discrepancies and provide this information in a timely manner to appropriate Logistics team member
* Test vehicle equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation, take vehicle to mechanic for service
* Vacuum and clean interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of automobiles.
* Additional 2nd shift hours may be offered

Skills:
* Professional appearance and service oriented disposition to interact with customers
* Ability to complete DOT paperwork and pass a DOT drug and alcohol screen
* Possesses professional and effective interpersonal and communications skills
* Keep vehicles clean and let team members know if there's a vehicle problem
* Complete DVCR's (Vehicle Condition Report)
* Must be able to maneuver up to 150 lbs.
* Possesses excellent time management, planning, decision making, and problem solving skills
* Have a solid work ethic and ability to work under pressure
* Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and self-motivation skills
* Good knowledge of equipment and roads, ability to follow GPS
* Able to read customer orders and follow directions

Requirements:
* Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
* Minimum 1-year recent driving experience
* Requires valid driver's license or driver’s license issued by a US state
* Must have acceptable MVR and provide documentation
* Must be able to obtain DOT examiners medical card before commencing work
* Must be insurable by the employer’s insurance company
* Ability to speak English, communicate, read, and comprehend traffic signage as well as DOT logs
• Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.

Special Requirements

Exposure to extreme temp, lifting 50 lbs, repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive walking, frequent stooping.

All license holders that drive commercial vehicles/trucks are required to pass a physical exam as outlined by the US Department of Transportation. The physical exam is administered by a certified physician and the driver is given a medical card indicating that the driver has passes the exam. The card is good for 2 years. All license holders must have clean driving record, free of major driving violations and suspensions, in order to be insurable as an acceptable driver by the employer's insurance company.
