Job description

The job opportunity involves routine agricultural tasks directly related to the production of grain and hay crops on the farm and its associated fields. Workers will operate agricultural equipment including tractors, swathers, grain carts, and ATV-mounted sprayers during planting, haying, and harvest activities. Duties include flood irrigation and pivot irrigation, seeding winter wheat, spring and fall tillage, weed control using sprayers, bush hogs, and weed eaters, and assisting with harvesting small grains and corn. Workers will transport harvested crops within the farm to on-farm or nearby storage facilities as part of normal harvest operations. The position also includes routine maintenance and servicing of agricultural equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Additional incidental duties include limited maintenance of farm roads and waterlines, minor fence repair as needed, and general grounds and outbuilding upkeep related to normal farm operations. All work is agricultural in nature, performed under typical field conditions, and consistent with standard farming practices for grain and hay production. The work is seasonal and corresponds with planting, crop care, irrigation, haying, and harvest activities during the production season. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
