Job description

Workers will be planting, staking, pruning, and picking blackberries by hand according to shape, color, maturity level, and/or ripeness. Workers must be able to work the entire period. Workers must have good hand/eye coordination. Other duties may include but not be limited to field maintenance, laying mulch in the fields, repairing irrigation lines, and tying plants to stakes in blackberry fields. Pay rate for picking blackberries will be on two different piece rates: Piece rate #1: $3.00 per box of 12 full 6-oz clam shells; Piece rate #2: $4.00 per box of 8 full 12-oz clam shells. Both piece rates have a minimum wage guarantee of $16.22 per hour for US workers, and $14.47 per hour for H-2A workers. All other activities for harvesting blackberries will pay on an hourly rate of $16.22 for US workers, and $14.47 per hour for H-2A workers; 35 hours per week, must be able to lift up to 60 lbs; All tools will be provided at no cost to the workers.
