Job description
Pruning and training of young and mature apple trees. Free climbing and climbing using ladders to prune, power saws and hand saws. Dragging brush in orchard. Planting young trees with tree planter and by hand using shovel. May perform any combination of tasks related to the planting and cultivating of fruit including but not limited to, operate tractor, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements and mechanical equipment. Harvest fruit and vegetables, harvest tree fruit using a ladder and picking bucket. Workers will be required to lift up to 50 lbs while ascending and descending a ladder on a sustained basis. Place ladder (up to 24 feet) against a tree limb, climb ladder, secure footing and pick carefully placing it into picking bucket. Climbing down the ladder and gently empty into designated field containers. Fruit should not be squeezed or handled roughly to avoid bruising. On short term basis workers may perform other harvest related tasks such as general farm labor. Worker is performed out of doors sometimes under conditions of heat, cold, and rain. 1 months experience in duties listed required.
