Job description
Workers will be performing duties related to SOC code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operators. Job duties will include but not be limited to: Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. driving tractors pulling large manure tanks on farms. Duties will also include applying manure to fields by injecting it into the ground in the fall and early winter. Tanks and tractors are being used to do this job. Workers will be pumping and agitating manure to be injected. Workers are responsible for preparing, maintaining, cleaning, and operating all machinery and equipment used for the handling of the manure. Washing and disinfecting at the facilities using power washers, brooms, pumps and other equipment where manure is removed may also be completed. The job requires working near livestock facilities and the strong smell of manure. Must be able to speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
