Job description
Attend to live farm, ranch animals that include cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, receiving, processing, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Inspect, maintain, fashion, repair livestock facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; Check and replenish mineral; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed/commodities and to produce forage such as hay; Move equipment or livestock from one location to another; Shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food; Break ice; Speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 100 lbs.
