Special Requirements

This position operates in a private club setting within a commercial kitchen environment. The employee also works in a hot, humid, and noisy environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The kitchen floor may be slippery from moisture and grease. This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, garbage disposal, and cleaning chemicals. The employee may be exposed to hazards, including, but not limited to, cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. May be required to move in and outdoors throughout the shift. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and occasionally taste or smell. The employee may occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role frequently involves lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, including kitchen supplies and equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Days and hours of work vary based on need. Early mornings, frequent evenings, and weekends, including holidays, work is required.

All applicants, including domestic and H2B visa holders and employees in seasonal, full-time, and annual positions, must pass drug tests and background checks. These standards apply to all applicants regardless of national origin, race, or gender.

The position is full-time at 35 hours per week. The Executive Steward supervises stewarding operations across four private clubs, each with its own dining, event, and banquet calendar. As a result, the specific days and daily hours of work vary by worksite location, by week, and by business volume. A single fixed daily schedule does not accurately represent the position. The employer therefore discloses the actual range of scheduling as follows.
Days of work: Sunday through Saturday. The clubs operate seven days per week. The specific days worked in any given week will vary depending on scheduling and business level. Weekend, evening, and holiday work is regularly required.
Hours of work: Shifts are scheduled at various times between 5:00 AM and 11:00 PM. Typical shifts include, but are not limited to, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The specific shift assigned will vary depending on scheduling and business level. The worker must be available to work all shifts.
The employer will use a single workweek (Sunday through Saturday) as its standard for computing wages due. The total number of hours offered will meet the three-fourths guarantee required under 20 CFR 655.20(f) over each applicable period.
