Job description
We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn, wheat, and soybean crop production season. Employees will perform all assigned duties related to growing these crops, including preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; engaging in planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting activities; fertilizing and spraying crops, including applying fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases using hand sprayers; loading and unloading crops or materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, or hand trucks; loading hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines using forklifts, augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks; manipulating controls to set, activate, and adjust equipment; observing and listening to machinery during operation to detect malfunctions; driving farm semi-trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools; inspecting, adjusting, and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment; recording agricultural data as required; and completing general farm duties such as mowing and washing or cleaning equipment. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
Special Requirements
The employer will conduct post-hire drug testing at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug-free workplace policy, and failure to pass a drug test will result in termination. The employer will also conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ individuals with felony or theft convictions, consistent with workplace safety policies, company hiring practices, and applicable law. The job requires extensive pushing and pulling; prolonged sitting, standing, and walking; frequent stooping and bending; and repetitive movements. The employee must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and must possess a valid drivers license. Require 3 months experience.
