General Farm Worker

Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area.

Equipment: Case IH 280 Tractor, Kinze 3600 Planter, 2190 Case Masey Ferguson Baler, WD 235 John Deere Mower, 6150 JD Tractor, Claas Hay Rake, 9230 Case Combine, Stinger Bale Trucks, Peterbilts, Magnum 303 Tractor, Magnum 315 Tractor.

Crops: Barley, Corn, Milo, Sorghum, Soy Beans, Wheat

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Criminal Background. Drug Screening. Employer requires criminal background check post hire at employer's expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Failure to pass drug screen will result in termination of employment. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
