Job description
Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. Prepare menu items with consistent results with ease and efficiency. Help with the preparation of food for cooking or serving, such as cutting vegetables and preparing sauces. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and often stressful work environment. Follow orders from supervisors. Assist with unload, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies. Stock workstations and ensure cleanliness by covering, labeling, and dating food items, then storing them properly. Handling kitchen cutlery efficiently and safely. Check inventory stocks and quality of supplies. Comply with all health and safety regulations. Assist head chef with service as necessary. Prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, or desserts in restaurants. May order supplies, keep records and accounts, price items on menu, or plan menu.
Employer will offer 2 shifts, 7 days a week, requiring 4 teams to cover the full week. Team 1 will work Monday - Friday, Team 2 will work Wednesday - Sunday. The day shift is 6:00am - 3:00pm, and the night shift is 1:00pm -9:30pm.
