Job description

Job requires operating farm equipment including, but not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, fork lifts, mowers, and combines to till soil; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, and harvest crops. Job also requires performing mechanical repair and maintenance; loading seed into planters; mixing and loading chemicals into sprayers; working with irrigation equipment such as well motors and irrigation pipe; laying irrigation pipe; walking and puncturing irrigation pipe at set intervals; removing irrigation pipe from fields; welding; regularly cleaning and servicing equipment; using hand tools in fields to rogue, maintain proper field conditions for crop growth, and remove trash; cleaning and maintaining organized shop locations; performing repair and maintenance on farm buildings and structures. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Criminal background check and drug screening may be possible post-hire at the employer's expense. Any worker that tests positive for drugs during the work contract period may be subject to immediate termination at the sole discretion of the employer to ensure the safety and living conditions of the workers. The employer may terminate the worker (foreign or domestic) if the employer discovers a criminal conviction record of assault or theft or status as a registered sex offender that employer reasonably believes, consistent with current law, will impair the safety and living conditions of other workers. Job will require workers performing duties outdoors during periods when temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Job duties will require workers to push, pull, sit, walk, stoop, or bend over for extended periods.
