Job description

This application is being filed pursuant to the regulations at 20 CFR 655.301 - 655.304 for Custom Combining.

We operate a custom harvesting business where we custom harvest corn, coastal, wheat, sorghum and various grasses. Employees will need to drive tractors for plowing, planting and harvesting crops. Employees will need to operate self-propelled custom harvesting machines to harvest/cut corn, coastal, wheat, sorghum and various grasses. Employees will need to adjust speed cutter, blowers and conveyors and height of cutting head, using hand tools. Changes cutting head as appropriate for crop. Employees may also complete duties like plowing, land leveling, disking, cultivating, planting, spreading fertilizer, spraying crops, hauling and spreading manure on farm fields and hauling hay and machinery. They will drive heavy trucks to transport product to elevator or storage area and drive transporter truck to haul harvesting machines between work sites. May be required to assist with the weighing of trucks and documenting data as required. During inclement weather, employees may be required to complete routine chores around the shop and work-site locations. Employees will be required to service machinery and complete in field repairs on equipment. Employer may pay performance-based incentive bonuses at the end of the contract period at the employer's discretion. Employer will provide at no cost to workers an effective means of communicating with persons capable of responding to the workers needs in case of an emergency. Applicants must be available for the entire contract period. Applicants hired after the start date must be available to begin working where employer is currently located, and remain for duration of itinerary. All drivers will be able to return to their residence or employer-provided housing within the same work day.

Special Requirements

Require 3 months experience.

Worker must have and maintain a valid driver's license: Class A CDL or equivalent within 30 days of hire. Must comply with all applicable requirements of USDOT regulations. Must pass a post-employment road test to gauge driving ability. Employer uniformly conducts a post-employment DOT physical, drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check at no cost to the worker.

Job requires extensive sitting. Must be able to lift 100 lbs.

Post-hire drug testing will be conducted at employer's expense to enforce a drug-free workplace policy. Any worker who declines to take or fails a mandatory drug test will be terminated.
