Job description
Responsible for the service of food. Maintain a good working relation with guests and staff. Accurately handle food in accordance with company procedures, and sanitary guidelines. Will possess a Food Handlers Permit and Liquor Card issued by the state of Utah. Comply with all government regulatory procedures regarding food service and alcohol service. Greet each guest, communicate with them through the time they are dining to determine if they are pleased with the food and service. Take guest/resident food orders, serve food in a fine dining manner. Responsible for appearance and cleanliness in dining room/area. Perform any other reasonable task as assigned by the supervisor. Have complete menu knowledge knowing all ingredients in food and cocktails to be adequately and confidently recommend and suggest food and beverage suggestions as well as to be able to help guests navigate food allergy issues.
Special Requirements
No education required. Six months of experience as a Dining Room Server or related occupation where the required experience was gained.
Frequent walking and standing. Ability to frequently bend, stoop, sit, stand, and reach. Ability to use correct body mechanics and lifting principles to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds or less. Ability to effectively and positively communicate with clients, guests, supervisors, and co-workers to express ideas, describe requirements, and negotiate outcomes. Ability to understand and put into effective practice a customer service ethic. Must have strong communication skills. Must be available to work some weekends and holidays, as necessary. Post-hire, must obtain a current Food Handlers Permit and Liquor TIPS Card.
Position also requires Min. 35hrs/week - 5 rotating days including weekends based upon occupancy: 4pm-11pm.
