Job description

Duties may include: Care for established lawns by mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, litter, leaves and debris. Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to plant trees, shrubs, flowers, lay sod and install sprinkler systems. Prune or trim trees, shrubs, foliage and deadhead flowers. Spray or spread fertilizers, and herbicides onto trees, shrubs, foliage or lawns using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. Maintain residential and commercial sprinkler systems. Provide proper upkeep to flower beds, sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots. Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, pruners and shears. May operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as work trucks with small utility trailers, mowers, trimmers, edgers, and leaf blowers. Clean worksite to ensure safety & other related Landscaping and Groundskeeping worker activities as per SOC/OES 37-3011 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).

Special Requirements

Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Perform physical activities: such as lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 50lbs. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Possible background check post hire at employer's expense. Work is performed outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime and/or overtime.
