Job description
Preparation and production of wholesome meals in accordance with company standards and local health regulations. Prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, sandwiches, breads, vegetables, or desserts in a la carte and buffet restaurants, cafes, and quick-serve locations. Prepare food according to hotel recipes and standards. Prepare special dietary meals or substitute items. Set-up and break down workstation. Ensure proper food preparation, sanitation, storage, and service. Includes some outdoor cooking and grilling as well as buffet and banquet culinary service.
SHIFTS VARY AND RANGE FROM 5:00 am - 1:00 pm, 7:00 AM TO 3:00 PM, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, 3:00 PM – 11: 00 PM. 35 HOURS PER WEEK. OVERTIME MAY BE AVAILABLE, BUT IS NOT GUARANTEED. OPEN 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK DAYS AND SHIFT TIMES WILL VARY. SHIFTS VARY BASED ON BUSINESS LEVELS, OCCUPANCY AND SCHEDULED EVENTS. HOLIDAY AND WEEKEND SHIFTS ARE REQUIRED. ON THE JOB TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED IF NECESSARY, BUT IT IS NOT REQUIRED.
Special Requirements
Must have 3 months experience as a Cook in a luxury hotel or resort.
Must be able to maneuver carts or dollies safely with loads up to 200 pounds up and down stairs, elevators, through passageways or outdoors up to 75 feet. Must be able to Reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, and flex arms, walk up and down stairs/inclines, sit, climb up/down ladders, or stand for up to 5 hours at a time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from ground level to and carries a distance of up to 100 feet with/ without assistance. Must be able to walk up to 5 miles per day. Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language and communicate in a clear and congenial manner, with our guests, visitors, and employees. Must be able to hear verbal instructions, directions, and warnings.
