Job description

Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, spray, cultivate, and harvest crops. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements and equipment that utilizes GPS and auto-guidance systems. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Job also requires loading seed into planters; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; welding; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; operating chainsaws; and regularly servicing equipment.

Job will also require workers to perform custom harvesting duties which include operating bean harvester, articulate tractor, and pick-up truck when harvesting. Workers will be required to perform repair and maintenance as well as clean and service the custom harvesting equipment as required. Custom harvesting duties will only be performed at the locations listed in Addendum B.

Workers will handle the following crops: soybeans, field corn, peas, spinach, sweet corn. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

A paid lunch break of at least 30 minutes would be provided daily.

Special Requirements

Applicant must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure safe housing and work environments for all workers. Positive drug test results or refusal to comply with testing may result in termination of employment. If employer discovers a criminal conviction record or status as a registered sex offender that employer reasonably believes, consistent with current law, will impair the safety and living conditions of other workers, the employer may terminate the worker (foreign and/or domestic) with notification to OFLC and DHS in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(n).Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds and will be operating harvesters for long periods of time resulting in extensive sitting.
