Job description

Workers will operate farm equipment to prepare agricultural ground and seed beds for row crop production. Ground preparation includes: leveling, disking, and ripping fields; using land planes; and chisel-plowing fields. Bed preparation for row-crop production includes listing, mulching, and seed-bed preparation. Workers must be able to apply fertilizers and chemicals using farm equipment such as spray rigs. Workers must be able to operate a tractor with onion lifting equipment. Workers may ride on the top of the onion lifting equipment to make sure bags empty completely and the discarded empty bags are placed into a basket on the top of the loader. Workers may perform other duties and tasks under SOC Code 45-2091. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Being on one's feet for long time periods is required. Sitting in, standing in, and/or operating agricultural equipment for long time periods is required. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is required. Frequent turning, pushing, and pulling is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate agricultural equipment is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required. Ability and licensure to drive is required.

Special Requirements

Workers must have 30 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Work may be requested in addition to or outside of this schedule. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in Addendum C. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
