Job description

Duties required: harvest, count, load, unload and stack jalapeno and bell peppers. Other duties may include installation/maintenance of drip-tape irrigation, pruning, scanning, cutting/trimming, weeding, pulling plastic/drip-tape, field walking and general farm labor. This will be done under extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, possible rain, wind and exposure to pollen. Repetitive physical conditions such as heavy bending, stooping and lifting will be involved on a regular basis. Random drug testing will be post-hire at employer's expense.

The first 7 working (business) days of employment are considered as an introductory period as set forth in the Company Employee Handbook. This will be time to learn and understand tasks involved in the job position, your co-workers, and the farm manager and supervisors. During this time, the company will evaluate the workers suitability for employment and the worker can evaluate the company as well. (Continued in Addendum C)

Special Requirements

Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors and practice safety in all aspects of work. The employer is a drug-free workplace and has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol in the workplace and in the employer-provided housing. Drug screening will be conducted post-hire at employer's expense for cases with valid reasons for suspicion.
