Job description

Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: plant, transplant, weed, spray, maintain, and other general care of vegetable crops; prepare fields/soil for planting; maintain fields, equipment, and farm property; repair and maintain farm equipment; assemble bins/containers; load and unload crops; maintain, and repair agricultural structures and fences; stake up temporary deer fencing; drive and operate tractor, forklift, and other farm equipment to perform farm tasks; drive employer provided vehicle to and from the worksite, and to other locations; haul employer’s crops to market and storage locations with all locations allowing workers to reasonably return within same workday; move equipment throughout field/loading area to allow harvest crew to load harvested product; monitor loaded harvested product; hand harvest to quality standards vegetable crops; grade, sort and pack produce to customer standards; maintain a clean packing area.

Special Requirements

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor and hand harvest and packing of beets, carrots, parsley, parsley root, parsnips, cilantro, mint, radish, dill, spinach, cabbage, leeks, celery root, and turnips. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties

Experience Requirement: 3 verifiable months commercial vegetable hand harvest experience required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience. Drug testing done at employers expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.
