Job description

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor and hand harvest of apples, apricots, asparagus, cherries, corn, cucumbers, gourds, nectarines, peaches, pears, pickles, plums, pumpkins, raspberries, winter squash, summer squash, strawberries and zucchini. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.

Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: plant, thin, prune, trim, train, tie, stake, and other general care of crops; establish new orchards and crop areas; general farm, field, and grounds maintenance and clean-up; remove weeds; paint tree trunks; install and maintain irrigation system; install and maintain trellis system; operate platform and other mechanized pruning or harvest equipment; remove old string and wire from trellis and orchard blocks; clean, sanitize and maintain farm tools, equipment and containers; hand harvest to quality standards apples, apricots, asparagus, cherries, corn, cucumbers, nectarines, peaches, pears, plums, pickles, pumpkin, gourds, raspberries, strawberries, winter squash, summer squash, and zucchini; grade, sort, and pack employer product only to quality standards.

Pay will be hourly.

Special Requirements

Experience Requirement: 2 verifiable months fruit or vegetable hand harvest experience required. Applicants must furnish job references from recent employers within the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience.

Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for and worker agrees to work every day that work is available for entire employment period.

Drug testing may be required if worker is involved in workplace injury resulting in damage to property or injury to others. Worker agrees to testing as a condition of employment. Testing done at employers expense and not utilized as a pre-employment tool.

Worker must be able to perform job description duties in safe manner consistent with established safety procedures.
