Job description

Duties to include, planting trees, cultivating and harvesting olives, loading pomace trucks, receiving 100% employer produced olives via truck from fields. Workers will also work in packing house to assist in processing and packing olive oil. Worker will drop fruit into containers and onto conveyor belts by bucket, long handle shovels or by hand. Workers may sort fruit by visual inspection, remove sticks and leaves prior to processing. Workers will assist in cleaning the processing plant and farm grounds to ensure cleanliness. Workers may perform spot testing, written recordings, equipment and machine servicing and collect oive and oil samples. Workers must adhere to all food safety and quality requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), FDA/FSMA. Must be able to lift 50lbs, no illegal drugs are allowed in housing or worksite. Drug screens will be performed post hire, incident, accident or upon suspicion, at the employers expense. Failure or refusal of a drug screen is grounds for immediate termination. Work will be performed in all weather conditions. Workers may work extended hours and shifts at peak harvest time and must have 3 months of experience in harvesting/producing olives or olive oil to ensure product quality standards. Workers may operate farm trucks and or equipment. Workers with driver’s licenses will operate standard vehicles on the road to travel to and from housing, worksites and stores. Workers will work either the 1st shift of 12am to 12pm or the 2nd shift of 12pm to 12am.

Special Requirements

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may offer additional work hours, or these hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
