Job description
Perform tasks as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor. Assigned tasks vary based on the experience level of the employee, with the tasks listed towards the end of the list being performed by the most experienced staff members: open cans, drums, bags and bins and empty contents of each into the kettle or into holding containers; maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area; read recipes and weigh ingredients according to the specifications of the recipe; measures the brix, consistency, temperature, and pH of products; cook the batches as indicated by the recipes or as directed by the Kitchen Supervisor; and fill out all paperwork and ensure it is appropriately filled out including SSOP forms, product quality forms, QA forms and the daily batch report. No education required. On the job training is provided.
Special Requirements
General ability to reach and write, is preferred. Position requires three (3) months of food processing and machine/equipment operations experience. Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to pass employer paid post-employment drug test. Starting salary is $14.00 per hour. Higher hourly rate may be given based on experience or merit.
