Job description
Will train to perform duties including: Measure, weigh, portion, and combine ingredients such as sugar, flour, eggs, and butter to prepare cookie doughs, fillings, icings, and other cookie components, by hand or using mixing or blending machines. Roll, knead, cut, shape, or portion dough to form cookies and other baked goods. Place dough in pans, molds, sheets, or pans to bake in production ovens. Set time and speed controls for mixing and blending machines, and time and temperature for production ovens. Decorate, pipe, fill, or apply chocolate coatings, cookie fillings, and other components or toppings to cookies and baked goods by hand. Assemble often-elaborate cookie, brownie, and cookie-shot creations. Adjust portions, measurements, temperatures, cooking times, and other variables to adjust for amounts of items or batches, color and texture of items in production, ambient humidity, and other variables. Bag and seal cookies. Assist with packaging baked-good sales orders as needed. Perform other pastry-kitchen station duties as assigned by supervisors and managers. Follow proper food-handling procedures to ensure food safety, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperatures.
Special Requirements
May be assigned to other worksites located within the same Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Must lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs., when necessary. Basic level English skills required. Work schedule will vary and will include evenings, holidays and Saturdays and Sundays. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Standard workweek is 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. 8-hour shift schedules, first shift starts 5 a.m., last shift ends 1 a.m. Shifts hours may vary.
