Job description
The job duties requested are only performed during the winter months when equipment is removed from field work and crop farming for the growing season and the machinery is no longer in use. The job duties will require the position to perform the following tasks: post and preseason equipment and vehicle inspections; winterizing all farm equipment and vehicles for which it is required; overhaul farm machinery and vehicles; dismantle defective machines; reassemble machines and equipment; test operation of components; test and replace electrical components and wiring using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools; tune or overhaul engines; replace or fix defective parts; fabricate new metal parts; patch or replace bent or torn sheet metal; disassemble equipment; service defective engines or replace engine components; adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance; test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning; clean equipment, parts, or tools to keep them in good working order; install machine or equipment replacement parts; test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning; paint and coat equipment with protective coatings; inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear; repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; fabricate parts or components; and fix structural components. Job will also require snow and ice removal from equipment yard.
Special Requirements
Job requires having, or being able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure safe housing and work environments for all workers. Positive drug test results or refusal to comply with testing may result in termination of employment. If employer discovers a criminal conviction record or status as a registered sex offender that employer reasonably believes, consistent with current law, will impair the safety and living conditions of other workers, the employer may terminate the worker (foreign and/or domestic) with notification to OFLC and DHS in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(n). Job duties will require workers to push, pull, sit, walk, stooping, bend over, and perform repetitive movements. Workers will be exposed to subfreezing temperatures. Basic English literacy, reading, and math skills required.
