Job description
Our operation consists of row crop farming. Row crop farming during spring requires knowledge and activity of discing and planting equipment operation and knowledge of seed and fertilizer types for proper application. Summer months entail possible irrigation work and maintenance with both center pivots and ground well with polypipe on graded ground. Harvest of crops in fall requires special equipment knowledge for peanuts, cotton, soybeans, corn, and popcorn. During fall months, employees will operate semi truck/trailer to haul grain storage bins and/or commodity drop-off points. Employees will drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Employees must be able to attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor; till soil; and tow harvesting equipment. Employees will assist with all aspects of growing these crops, and complete general farm duties as assigned. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving is required.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, and pulling. Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background as required by the workplace safety policy and company HR hiring practices as allowed by law. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license within 30 days of hire. Require 3 months experience.
