Job description

Crops/Commodities:
sweet corn and green beans.
Clean driving record required. Must have a driver's license. Workers with appropriate licenses and a valid doctor's certificate will be asked to drive other workers in company bus. Must have and maintain a valid U.S. commercial driver's license (CDL) or Licencia Federal de Conductor with air brake and double/triple endorsements to permit driving of trucks. Must have clean driving record. Must comply with all applicable requirements of the USDOT regulations. Must have no disqualifying factors under applicable law or employer's motor vehicle insurance policy. Disqualifying factors include but are not limited to: conviction for driving under the influence, driving while impaired or the occurrence of a serious at-fault accident. A uniformly conducted motor vehicle records check will assess whether applicant has a clean driving record and Is legally entitled to operate commercial motor vehicles in the United States.
As a driver your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, following direction given by the supervisors and the transportation coordinator. Provide transportation for workers to and from work. Transport workers to purchase food and to laundry facility to wash clothing The driver will take passengers to specified destinations. The driver will be responsible for basic maintenance, including check the vehicle's oil, tires, lights, in addition to keeping the bus clean, as part of the pre-trip inspection. The bus driver is required to obey all traffic laws and company policies. The bus driver is required to maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all time. Ensure the safety of all passengers. Perform pre trip and post trip inspection of the bus before and after each shift. Report any hazards found during pre trip and post trip inspection. When not operating the bus the bus drivers will be required to assist in the up keep of the buses and transportation equipment. Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable CDL with passenger endorsement, as applicable, will be required to drive company buses.
Workers must have a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and must have an insurable driver's license to drive company vehicles. Workers with appropriate insurable driver's license will be required to drive company vehicles, such as a bus. Workers will also operate/drive semi-trucks, to haul corn waste on the farm property only.
Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) must have an insurable CDL (Class B endorsement) to drive the company bus to take workers to and from work and to town as needed
1. Employee will drive bus over the road.
2. Employee will pick up workers from different housing sites/pick up points and take them to an assigned work site and at the end of the day take them back to the housing site/pick up point.
3. In order to drive a bus, employee must possess valid CDL license and must be able to pass physical exam. The employer will be responsible for the cost of the CDL and physical exam (if any).
While the employer does not require prospective applicants to take and pass a drug test prior to a hiring decision, the employer has a no-exceptions drug policy requiring newly-hired employees to take and pass an employer-paid drug test. Every new hire must undergo testing before starting work with the company. All testing is conducted uniformly after an initial job offer has been extended and accepted by the new hire. If an employee tests positive, he/she is immediately terminated and paid for all hours worked between the first date of employment and the date of termination, if any.

Special Requirements

Positions sought by this labor certification are in driving company vehicles such as bus. To be considered for the jobs, applicants are required to have at least three months of verifiable prior experience driving a bus, preferably for a vegetable farm/packing facility. The applicants must also have a valid CDL (Class B endorsement) to drive the company bus. Workers must be able to perform manual and mechanized tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Saturday work required. Post-hire employer-paid drug testing required. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds. Must have a valid CDL Class B with passenger endorsement to drive bus.
